-- Tidbits --
Check out "Morse Runner" CW contest training software. It's free! It simulates an HF CW contest exchanging serial numbers with prefixes as multipliers. While you can't tune around the band, you can "run" a frequency. It let's you turn on audio distortions like fading, QRN, and QRM. It lets you set your audio filter bandwidth. You set your sending speed and all callers are at that speed or slower. It's great way to get stronger on letters and numbers. There are even one hour "competitions". You run the program for an hour competing. When you are done, it gives you a coded text string to submit to the website. Go to: http://www.dxatlas.com and give it a try! (It's an option on the left side of the page "Morse Runner".)
Conf Lodging Alternatives
Lodging at the conference hotel is now reportedly full. If you still want to come to the conference, you should start by contacting Sharon Deputy (at the Sheraton 800-981-4012, ext.1621 or 719-287-1951) and check if any openings have occurred. You must understand that these rooms will likely NOT be at the special conference rate.
Then you should work your way down the following list looking for openings. Please understand that lodging is very tight on our conference weekend because of some athletic events going on in Colorado Springs at that time. Please understand that if you find an opening, it quite likely will be more expensive than the original conference special rate we had negotiated.
First try
Doubletree Hotel Colorado Springs-World Arena (.4mi west) 1775 E. Cheyenne Mountain Blvd.,Tel: +1-719-576-8900 or the Park Place Hotel, about 7 miles north on I-25 near the Garden of the Gods exit on I-25 (719-598-7656) These are both fine facilities with nice amenities.
