States Above 50 MHz Award Program 2004-2005 Just Ended
The 2004-2005 program just came to an end on June 30th. Entries submitted by conference time are eligible for plaques. If you will be bringing your entry to the conference, please send me an email with you're your summary. Entries received by August 31st 2005 will receive a certificate.
Consult the website http://www.csvhfs.org/CSVHFTST.HTML for rules and optional forms. I'm flexible on entry format--excel spreadsheets, text files, text pasted into an email--as long as the info is the same as that on the suggested forms.
CSVHFS 40th Anniversary States Above 50 MHz Award Program 2005-20065 Has Begun
The 2005-2006 program began July 1st, 2005. The CSVHFS 40th Anniversary will be celebrated at the 2006 Conference in Minneapolis/St Paul. The States Above 50 MHz Award Program began 10 years ago as a celebration of CSVHFS history and the earlier importance of states and sections in contests. Over the intervening ten years, participants have enjoyed the motivation provided by the program.
In 1996, forty-eight participants submitted entries. Our goal is to top that by far. All CSVHFS members, and all VHF'ers for that matter, are encouraged to collect band-states during this year, track your accomplishment, and submit an entry at the end of the program year.
Consult the website http://www.csvhfs.org/CSVHFTST.HTML for rules and optional forms. Participate!
CSVHFS Notes Prominent VHF'ers Passing
As mentioned in the last E-Newsletter, CSVHFS founder Ted Mathewson, W4FJ passed away in December. Now, news comes of the recent passing of Fred Fish, W5FF and Dave Batcho, N5JHV. Both were prominent in the hobby primarily because they operated frequently and were well-heard. But it's more than that. Each
